This page features all the current startastory projects, I'm working on a number of different ideas that will be shown on the site soon. Many of the projects are open to everyone to get involved

13. Story Board:

StoryboardStory Board was an interactive project involving the general public. At the Assemble exhibition (16th - 23rd September) in Brighton I set up a magnetic whiteboard and provided pens and magnetic images and words for people to use in creating a narrative. The idea was that people would carry on the previous persons' story, they would then take a photo using a camera that was situated in front of the board. With the results I've made an animation showing every photo that was taken during the week.

9. Five by Five:

Five by Five5x5 involves twentyfive contributors each designing one square in a patch work like illustrative narrative. The first square illustrated was the central one and then the rest are being allocated from the centre outwards. Artists were asked to consider how their illustration related to the other squares it was next too, so in narrative and/or imagery.

Flow caher AdventureThe 'Flow Chart Adventure' is a simple project for anyone, If you're scared to start a story this is the project to try. The flow chart divides up the story structure and allows the contributor to draw, write or both.

7. Choices:

choices'Choices' started life as 'Pass it on 2', a variation on 'Pass it on' however I ended up changing the idea quite a bit. The project is a story with multiple endings, it starts from one image and at each stage you have two different routes to take. Each image has been illustrated by someone different.

6. Layer by Layer:

Layer by Layer
Like 'Pass it On' each page is illustrated and written by someone different, however each image in the story is drawn on the layer above the previous one using a program that uses layers such as 'photoshop'.

5. In Between:

In Between
In Between is a story that begun with a beginning and then an end, it was up to the contributors to add to the story by adding the middle parts. There are nine pages in total each illustrated by someone different.

4. Colouring Book:

Colouring Book
This is my take on the colouring book. The project basically involves a colouring book, six felt tips and six people. Each person gets to choose a colour and customize as much of the colouring book as they like using that one coloured felt.

3. Foto Folly:

Foto Folly
There are 30 photos of a scene and the idea is for you to choose 2-6 of them and make up your own story by adding words and/or imagery. You can present the story in any way you like.

2. Your Shout:

Your Shout
Your Shout is a project that encourages you to start your very own comic. The comic I created had blank characters and blank word balloons, it was a starting point and I wanted the participants to customize it and add there own individual marks. The stories I've received back so far have been very diverse, funny and usually full of bad language.

1. Pass it on:

Pass it OnThe idea was to create a story where each page was illustrated and written by someone different. I started the project and then passed my illustration onto someone else. Each person who participated only got to see the previous page to the one they worked on.
